1. MONSTER IN HIS EYES by J.M. Darhower
SYNOPSIS
Ignazio Vitale is not a good man. I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what Iβm thinking before I even do. Itβs alarming and alluring. Itβs dark and deadly. Itβs everything I've ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession.
It doesnβt take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until itβs too late. He has secrets, secrets I canβt fathom, secrets that make it so I canβt walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that's both terrifying and thrilling. Heβs a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything.
I want to hate him. Sometimes, I do. But it doesnβt stop me from loving him, too.

Karissa. She thinks Iβm a monster, and maybe I am. I taunt her with my touch, get a thrill out of torturing her soul. But Iβm not the only one. The world is full of monsters, and Iβm not the most dangerous one out there. Not even closeβ¦
God help me, I love her. I do. And God help anybody who tries to take her from me.

BOOK REVIEW
Monster in His Eyes story by J.M. Darhover was a very complicated read, nothing Iβd expected before diving into this mafia book. It radiated something dark and dangerously alluring. But the pacing was a tad bit slow for my liking but the anticipation of what was about to come thrilled me.
Heβs a monster wrapped up in a pretty package. But I find myself wondering at times like this, when I feel the distance between us, if maybe in his eyes, the real monster is me.
Ignazio βNazβ Vitale was an enigmatic man, strong and intense. I believe it was his virile side intensified by wealth and some sort of mystery (clearly around his past and veiled part of his life) that intrigued Karissa and drew her to him. He was like a drug, an addictive one, and she was not sure it was a habit she could kick. All it took for her was one hit. One strong, euphoric hit, and she was instantly hooked.
How can someone surrounded by an air of danger make me feel so downright safe?
Karissa Reed was confusing me all the damn time. Yes, she was supposed to be that sweet and innocent heroine caught in the midst of the chaos created by bad and dangerous people. But how naive could one be when dealing with a man like Naz? She could lie to herself all she wanted, but the fact that Ignazio was not a good man and would probably never be was obvious. And so, whenever Karissa pretended to be at odds with her feelings towards the man and became mad at him for whatever mess she eventually found herself in, I became really annoyed with her character. Especially when it was clear as day that she wanted him and made a conscious decision to be with him.
He fucks me like he means it, like he needs it, like being inside of me is more important than anything inside of him, and every cell in my body calls out to him, craving more of it.
The relationship between Naz and Karissa went from zero to a hundred real quick. The chemistry and intimacy were just out of this world intense. And choking during the sexual intercourse obtained a new meaning for me haha.
βWhen you love somebody, you want whatβs best for them... but when youβre in love with them, you want them for yourself.β
Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed the book because of the romance aspect of it. There were so many emotional scenes that drove me crazy. And the relationship development was remarkable. Highly recommend this unconventional mafia romance for a taste test!
3. TARGET ON OUR BACKS by J.M. Darhower

It shouldβve been over, we shouldβve been happy, but people are making it hard for me to live in peace. Iβve got so much blood on my hands theyβll never be clean, and somebody out there seems to want me to pay for it. Happily Ever After always comes at a cost, one any real man would be willing to pay.
