1. THE LIES WE TELL by Becca Steele

I don’t want Caiden Cavendish... Lie.

Lies. Lies. Lies.

Eeny, meeny, miny, mo. The Four are coming for you, Snow.

BOOK REVIEW

The Lies We Tell is the very first book in The Four series by completely new to me author, Becca Steele. I really enjoyed her writing style. It was neat, if you may. As for the plot, you know how snowflakes seemingly have the same kind of concept but are one of a kind, the same applies to this particular story. What expected to be an average bully romance set in college turned out to be a pretty entertaining read filled with romantic suspense and slow-burning angst. Winter and Caiden, as well as the rest of the Four kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat in a desperate attempt of mine to find out the truth behind so many lies in Alstone.

NOTE: There was a bad cliffhanger in the end, and I was actually mad.

2. THE SECRETS WE HIDE by Becca Steele

SYNOPSIS

Eeny, meeny, miny, mo. I’ve got a secret you don’t know.

Caiden Cavendish is under my skin. The Four have switched from being my enemies to my closest friends. But not everything has changed. Two truths remain... my life is still in danger, and my mother is hiding something. So many questions, and no answers. What secrets lie buried in Alstone?

The lies, the secrets, they’ll come undone. I’m the monster you can’t outrun.

BOOK REVIEW

Why did we always end up with more questions, and no answers?

The Secrets We Hide didn’t even hesitate to throw me into the dark hole of suspense and thrill right off the bat. What happened to Winter? Would Caiden finally pull his head out of his gorgeous ass? How were their families connected in the grand scheme of things in Alstone? I was just too curious and couldn’t put the fucking book down.

“Good. I want them to know you belong to me. You’re mine.”

Winter and Caiden went through some sort of a transition from unexplainable physical attraction to passion to possession to re-evaluation to long-awaited I-love-yous. Winter showed more of the gentle side of hers that touched the hearts of people around her. But the highlight of the book was definitely Caiden who matured so much and managed to admit his deep feelings for Winter. I adored his blatant displays of affection. Words like ‘you’re my fucking addiction, baby’ would melt any girl’s heart haha. Super cliche but super cute at the same time!

NOTE: OMG there was a fucking cliffhanger in the end once again! I’m so frustrated...

3. THE HAVOC WE WREAK by Becca Steele

SYNOPSIS

Secrets and lies are being revealed. Loyalties are being tested, and betrayal cuts deep.

My mother needs to be stopped, but at what cost? In the end, who will be left standing? And... Who will fall...

Eeny, meeny, miny, mo.

You underestimated the Four and Snow.

You thought you were on a winning streak.

But are you prepared for the havoc we wreak?

BOOK REVIEW

There’s not much non-spoilery to talk about, to be completely honest. The final book covering the major events of the story did wrap up the majority of questions but had a good chunk of blanks at the same time. It didn’t blow me away but was alright.

4. THE FIGHT IN US by Becca Steele

SYNOPSIS

Lust. Mystery. Betrayal.

Weston Cavendish. My brother’s best friend. I’d perfected the art of pretending that I didn’t want him, that he didn’t affect me every time he was near. Or so I thought.

When his world comes crashing down, I’m the one he turns to, and I can’t deny my feelings any longer. I know there’s something between us. Until he finds out that I’ve been hiding things from him, too.

Broken and betrayed, can we pick up the pieces and work together to expose the truth? The odds are stacked against us. But I won’t give up without a fight.

5. THE BONDS WE BREAK by Becca Steele

SYNOPSIS

Fear. Desire. Redemption.

When I was taken... it changed me. Once, I was the life of the party. Not anymore. I told myself that I was okay. I almost believed it, until the day I was forced to face my past and my nightmare came to life. Now the Four are the only ones I can turn to, and Cassius Drummond has made it his personal mission to help me out.

No matter how much I tell myself that he’s off-limits, the more time we spend together, the more I want him. Bound by my past, I know I’m no good for him, and I’m nothing more than a convenient distraction while we’re stuck with each other. It’s going to end in heartbreak. But every time he smiles at me, I find myself falling a little bit more.

I left Alstone behind, and never planned to return. Until the day I received the news that the man who raised me was behind bars. Now it’s time to come back. To face the demons of my past so that I can move on to my future. Alone.
